What's the Verdict?
Podcast

Episodes

We may not have a lot of life experience, or a law degree, but we do have a lot of opinions!

Hello, and welcome to What’s the Verdict? on CJRU 1280 AM. A show where four university friends share Redditor dilemmas and charge them according to their “crime.” We’re your hosts: Julia, Kyana, Leo and Sandra. Join us as we play judge and jury, and decide: What’s the Verdict?

If you want to share your own stories and dilemmas,  find our website or social media and our Google Form.

Disclaimer: we are NOT lawyers, have little to no law education, and are not *actually* charging people.

How We Work

After reading and discussing a reddit story, we will award it 1-5 points per category. The total amount of points of the story will give it 1 of 6 charges.

Point Categories

To arrive at a verdict, we award a story 1-5 points in 6 categories:

  • Brain chemistry-altering, which means it’s so wild we can’t process

  • Kinda rude but not malicious

  • Drama queen

  • Cringiness and weirdness

  • Pettiness and intentionality

  • Outta pocket and jaw-dropping.

The Charges

How we work (1).png

After awarding 1-5 points in each of these categories, the sum of the points will achieve a charge. The charges ranges from:

  • Lock ‘em up and throw away the key - 25-30 points

  • Outta pocket; kinda rude - 20-25 points

  • Definitely questionable; something’s going on here - 15-20 points

  • Petty periodt - 10-15 points

  • Meh, I’ve seen worse - 5-10 points

  • Innocent of heart - 0-5 points

  • Honourary Charge: Everybody Sucks Here
